Pistons Have Won Back To Back Games

Detroit went into the All-Star break on a high note with a win over the red hot Celtics and came out of the break with another impressive win over Cleveland.

The Pistons looked energized, rested and a little more dynamic tonight in its 106-103 win over Cleveland. The Cavs are the surprise of the NBA this year so getting a win over them right out of the All-Star break is a very nice feat for Detroit. Head coach Dwane Casey had high praise for the Cavs and JB Bickerstaff and reiterated that they're one of the best, young teams in the league. Casey said in a couple of different ways that the Cavs are what his Pistons are trying to be.

Tonight, however, the Pistons came out on top.

A big reason why was newly-acquired Marvin Bagley III. The 6-11 big man scored 16 points, grabbed four rebounds and blocked a shot in 27 minutes of action. He was productive on the court, but he was also exciting. His block was big time, but it was his one-handed jam on a lob from Cade Cunningham that got everyone's attention.

At 22 years old, with plus-athleticism, length and a knack for playing above the rim, Bagley pairs perfectly with Cunningham and tonight was our first real glimpse at that. I maintain that Bagley should be starting and tonight was evidence why.

Hamidou Diallo led all Pistons with 21 points and knocked down all three of his shots from behind the long line. Fellow reserve Rodney McGruder also did his part scoring 12 points on 4-for-4 from deep. Jerami Grant and Cunningham also played well overall.

The Pistons will get back on the court this weekend when they host the Celtics on Saturday as they look for their first three-game winning streak of the entire season.
