On Wednesday night, the Detroit Pistons will close out their back-to-back set out West with a matchup against the Phoenix Suns.

According to PNHX’s Gerald Bourguet, the Suns don’t intend to roll out their star guard, Bradley Beal, as he suffered a setback on Tuesday night against the Sacramento Kings.

Beal’s injury doesn’t seem to be too serious. According to Phoenix head coach Frank Vogel, the star guard “pulled his hamstring,” and the team believes he’s simply dealing with a strain. With the All-Star break ahead, Phoenix won’t risk further injury with Beal, allowing him to have more time off before the season reaches the final stages before the playoff push.

On Tuesday night, Beal checked in for a little under five minutes against the Sacramento Kings. He got off to a decent start, going 2-2 from the field and scoring five points. Unfortunately, when he left the court for the first time, Beal wouldn’t return. Without him, the Suns picked up a five-point victory over the Kings.

Amidst his first season out of the Eastern Conference, Beal got off to a tough start in Phoenix. Due to an injury, he didn’t debut until Phoenix’s eighth game of the year in early November. When he did return to the court, it was just for a three-game stretch. A setback took Beal off the court for 12 more games.

Then, after another three-game stretch following his return, Beal went out for another five games. Heading into Tuesday’s game against Sacramento, Beal was feeling great for the first time this season. He hadn’t missed a game since late December. Although Tuesday’s matchup marked his 24th in a row, he’ll miss his first game since December 27 when the Pistons are in town.

The Pistons and the Suns will square off at 9:00 PM ET.
