Pistons News: Cade Cunningham Sees Slight Drop in Latest NBA Player Rankings

After missing a majority of last season due to injury, Cade Cunningham is putting together a strong campaign in his third year with the Detroit Pistons. Despite this, the young guard remains in the same tier when it comes to player rankings.

Every year, the people at The Ringer put together a list of the top 100 NBA players for that season. It is updated at multiple points to credit players who are surging. Dating back to the end of last season, Cunningham finds himself around the same spot.

Back in January, it looked like the former No. 1 pick was going to crack the top 50. That said, Cunningham has taken a slight dip in the recent addition. He now finds himself at No. 60, three spots below where he began the season.

Being on the back end isn't a great spot to be, but it is more a testament to the pool of talent in the league today. Some of the players around Cunningham on the top 100 list include Bradley Beal, Fred VanVleet, Khris Middleton, and Aaron Gordon. Seeing that these are all All-Stars or key contributors on contenders, the Pistons guard is still in good company.

Cunningham missed a brief stretch of time in January, but has mainly been a constant in the lineup for Monty Williams. He's appeared in 44 games this season, and is putting up averages of 21.9 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and 7.5 APG.

As a jumbo-sized guard who can do a little bit of everything, Cunningham is built for the modern NBA. Still only 22-years-old, he should climb lists like this in the future as he gets closer to his prime.

Outside of Cunningham, no other Pistons player found themself on the top 100 list.
