Jalen Green's 31-Point Performance Leads Rockets In Win Over Spurs

HOUSTON — The Houston Rockets won their second consecutive game in a 142-110 win over the San Antonio Spurs inside the Toyota Center Sunday night. The Rockets swept their home-and-home series against their I-10 rivals after picking up a win Saturday night in San Antonio.
Alperen Sengun's first basket of the game ended a two-minute scoring drought for the Rockets.
Sengun's basket came following a pick-and-roll action between him and Jalen Green. Green's pass to Sengun was the first of 16 first-half assists, which led to a 73-63 lead entering halftime.
The Rockets finished the game with 29 assists.
Green recorded one more assist before the night was over. But he led the Rockets in the scoring department with 31 points on an efficient 11-for-19 shooting, 4-for-8 from deep. Sengun finished with his second consecutive double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.
The Rockets maintained their ball movement, with Kevin Porter Jr. displaying his playmaking. Porter recorded a season-high 13 assists in the win. He also added 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting, 3-for-5 from behind the arc.
Houston had seven players who scored in double figures. Jae'Sean Tate, in his first game against the Spurs this season, finished the night with 16 points (5-7 FG) in 23 minutes off the bench.
Keita Bates-Diop led the Spurs in scoring with 17 points, while DeVonte Graham added 14 in the loss. After missing the previous game due to an injury, Keldon Johnson scored eight points in his return.

With the win, the Rockets and Spurs finished their four-game regular-season series with a 2-2 tie. San Antonio took an early 2-0 series lead, winning by an average margin of 14 points during the first two games.

With the win, the Rockets are currently on a two-game winning streak. The last time Houston won back-to-back games came between Jan. 28 and Feb. 1 by defeating the Detroit Pistons and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Starting with the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, the Rockets will play seven of their next eight games at home. Their lone road game over the next two weeks will be Thursday night against the Indiana Pacers inside the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
