Rockets Seven Days Away From NBA Draft Lottery Position

In this story:
HOUSTON — The Houston Rockets, along with 14 other teams, are seven days away from the NBA Draft lottery and the rights to French phenom Victor Wembanyama.
Wembanyama is the projected No. 1 overall pick and the most anticipated prospect since LeBron James in 2003.
The Rockets will enter the draft lottery with a 14.0 percent chance to land the No. 1 overall pick. They are in a three-way tie alongside the Detroit Pistons and San Antonio Spurs. The Rockets have a 20 percent chance of falling to the No. 6 pick.
General manager Rafael Stone said the Rockets are open to trading their lottery pick in hopes of keeping the franchise's options open when enhancing its subpar roster.
"I will consider trading picks for anything — it's my job," Stone said. "We will consider anything if it makes sense to where we are trying to go ultimately. We don’t necessarily have to draft at least both of the picks...Depending on who is available in the draft, trading those picks for future picks or veteran guys, all is on the table for us."
The Rockets will have two first-round picks in this year's draft. Due to the trade that sent Eric Gordon to the Los Angeles Clippers in February, Houston has obtained the No. 20th pick.
The 2023 NBA Draft is developing into a star-studded class. G League Ignite prospect Scoot Henderson and Alabama's Brandon Miller are joining Wembanyama to round out the projected top three selections.
