Per Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News, the NBA has taken Spurs-Hornets off the ESPN broadcast schedule completely while moving the tip-off time up to 7 p.m. CT, two hours earlier than the original start time of 9 p.m. CT.

With the changes, the two games on ESPN for Jan. 12 are the Sacramento Kings visiting the Philadelphia 76ers at 6:30 p.m. CT and the Denver Nuggets hosting the New Orleans Pelicans at 9 p.m. CT.

The matchup was likely originally set to be broadcast on ESPN due to the battle of the No. 1 and No. 2 overall picks. But while Victor Wembanyama and Brandon Miller have both had impressive rookie seasons, a combined 13-54 record between the two teams along with a late 9 p.m. original tip-off time probably played a role in the league's decision to flex the matchup out of the ESPN schedule.

The Spurs and Hornets will play their second and final meeting of the regular season just a week after their first. Charlotte will host San Antonio at the Spectrum Center on Friday, Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. CT.
