The Oklahoma City Thunder tested the San Antonio Spurs, but it didn't phase them in their win.

The San Antonio Spurs controlled the game most of the way in their win against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but they had to earn it.

Despite the Thunder laking a lead, the Spurs didn't panic and found a way to grab the lead back. Oklahoma City took a lead with 7:54 to go in the fourth, but a 26-11 run down the stretch pushed San Antonio over the top.

"We had a 12-point lead in the third and they cut it real quick, took the lead in the fourth and we didn't drop our heads there," point guard Tre Jones said. "That's something we've done in the past. We stayed together, we continue to pound the rock and chip away at things and things went our way down the stretch.”

The Spurs have often given up leads and never recovered throughout the season, but Thursday's win was a different story. It's also proof that the Spurs are capable of beating some of the best talent in the NBA, and that surrendering a lead doesn't always have to be a death sentence.

If the Spurs can do this against a top team like the Thunder, then that should give them confidence when they play any team on their schedule.

The next team to face the Spurs is the Indiana Pacers. Tipoff is set for Sunday at 6 p.m. CT.
