Spurs Fiesta 5: Malaki Branham Silences Critics

In this story:
1. BRANHAM QUIETS HATERS "Everybody was kind of bashing me on Twitter," Branham said following the Spurs' victory over the Wizards a game later. "And It's hard [to not pay attention to it] because we're on social media all the time."
2. THE NEXT MANU? "I've been feeling great being compared to a guy like that," Cissoko said after Tuesday's win over the Washington Wizards. "(My coach) last year was comparing me to Ginobili, and I said "Okay. I'll take it. He's a good player.'"
3. HALL OF FAME FORESHADOWING? "It seems fitting for this serendipitous organization that the "Big 3" and the one of a kind coach will now all be immortalized just as it begins the Victor Wembanyama era. I've often joked that God loves the Spurs. That opinion has only been solidified by the arrival of Wemby."
4. SPURS HONORED AT ESPYS The San Antonio Spurs were honored at the 2023 ESPYS on Wednesday as the winners of ESPN's Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year.
The Spurs hosted practices in Uvalde, Texas this past season to bring light to the community after the horrific mass shooting at Robb Elementary in May 2022. The organization also donated and raised funds in an effort to help those impacted by the tragedy.
5. SPURS PLAY TONIGHT The Spurs return to the floor for their fourth game tonight against No. 5 overall pick Ausar Thompson and the Detroit Pistons. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. on ESPN.
