Inside The Spurs identifies five of the biggest NBA storylines in addition to relevant San Antonio Spurs news and analysis.

In this story:

1. SPURS SEND AUSTIN FANS HOME HAPPY IN WIN VS. BLAZERS

"It marked the first-ever NBA regular-season game to be played in Austin, Texas, as the Spurs hosted the Blazers at the Moody Center, home of the Texas Longhorns.

"And the Spurs gave the Lone Star State fans a show, fending off the Blazers in the final minutes for a tight 129-127 win."

2. LONGEST INJURY REPORT OF ALL-TIME?

"It's been a long NBA season for the Portland Trail Blazers and San Antonio Spurs and the injuries are starting to pile up ... more than we've ever seen before.

"For tonight's matchup in Austin, 23(!!!) players are listed on the injury report in some capacity, nine Spurs and 14 Blazers."

3. MAVS PROTEST DENIED

The Dallas Mavericks filed a formal protest with the NBA after a 127-125 loss to the Golden State Warriors on March 22.

During the third quarter of that game, the Mavs were under the impression that possession of the ball was theirs coming out of a timeout. However, the officials ruled it was the Warriors’ possession, which led to on-court confusion and Golden State getting an uncontested layup.
