Spurs Fiesta 5: Should San Antonio Sign Dillon Brooks?

Inside The Spurs identifies five of the biggest NBA storylines in addition to relevant San Antonio Spurs news and analysis.

In this story:

1. DILLON BROOKS TO LEAVE GRIZZLIES; SPURS NEXT DESTINATION?

"The Spurs provide an environment that won't be rummaged with big market media trying to ignite the feud that's been brewing between him and LeBron James and perhaps a little Gregg Popovich magic could push his career back on the right path."

2. DEVIN VASSELL'S IMPACT

"Vassell’s ceiling is higher than it once seemed," The Ringer writes. "But that evolution has brought greater expectations. He’s a lynchpin piece in a rebuild that could last until his prime. In the here and now, Vassell will get touches, shots, and an opportunity to bloom that otherwise might never have happened. What he does with it will have a huge impact on San Antonio’s future."

3. SPURS ADD SHOOTING COACH

The San Antonio Spurs are adding a new assistant to Gregg Popovich's staff in shooting coach Jimmy Baron.

Baron, 36, played his college basketball at Rhode Island and then had a successful 11-year career overseas.

According to Forbes, Baron has worked with the likes of Kevin Love, Derrick Rose and John Wall. Now, he'll look to mold the upstart Spurs.

4. SIXERS VS. CELTICS GAME 2 TONIGHT

The Boston Celtics look to avoid going down 0-2 as James Harden and the Philadelphia 76ers hope to remain perfect in the postseason (8 p.m. EST, TNT).

5. NBA DRAFT LOTTERY COUNTDOWN

The Spurs are 13 days away from the NBA Draft Lottery, where it will be revealed if San Antonio will have the opportunity to take Victor Wembanyama with the No. 1 overall pick.
