Report: Suns, Jazz Have Discussed Trade for Bojan Bogdanovic

The Phoenix Suns have reportedly reached out to Utah in hopes of obtaining Bojan Bogdanovic according to John Gambadoro.

There's a fire sale currently underway for the now rebuilding Utah Jazz, and the Phoenix Suns hope to get in on the action.

Shortly after the Jazz dealt guard Donovan Mitchell to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Suns reportedly reached out to Utah in hopes of acquiring forward Bojan Bogdanovic according to Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro.

The move for the 33-year-old forward will see Phoenix continue to push their chips to the middle of the table and go all in on a title run this season.

The Suns would need to give up multiple players and draft assets according to the article while also matching his $19.5 million cap hit (which includes likely incentives via Spotrac). He is set to become an unrestricted free agent after this season.

Phoenix, possibly looking to move on from forward Jae Crowder, would have a few bargaining chips to move to Utah.

Last season for the Jazz, Bogdanovic played in 69 games while averaging 18.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per night. Since the 2017-18 season, he has shot no less than 38.7% from three-point land.

The Suns could capitalize on his shooting in their efforts to space the floor out, and provided he can maintain his output, Phoenix would finally field a strong option outside of the paint behind Devin Booker and Chris Paul.

Will the interest turn into something real? The Suns seemed intent on upgrading their roster one way or another. Perhaps this is the best (and most realistic) option remaining for Phoenix.
