Former Suns PG Chris Paul Still Unsure of Role With Warriors

The Golden State Warriors still aren't sure if Chris Paul will be starting in 2023-24.

Former Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul still doesn't have a crystal-clear role on his new team, and that could take some massive adjustments on his end.

The Golden State Warriors landed Paul this offseason just shortly after the Washington Wizards landed him in the Bradley Beal deal with Phoenix. Paul - in his late thirties - still hopes to find that coveted championship ring before officially putting a close on his career.

He nearly did so with the Suns in the 2021 NBA Finals, though Phoenix wasn't able to make good on their 2-0 series lead and ultimately fell to the Milwaukee Bucks in six games.

If you're searching for a title, look no further than the gold standard Warriors who have captured four championships with a crew of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

There's been plenty of talk about Paul's potential role in Golden State, as the future Hall of Fame floor general has been a perennial starter since entering the league.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr said the team still hasn't decided what they'll do, but they "have six starters" and all of them want to win:

"If this is gonna work, then everybody has to embrace it regardless of who's starting and who's not," Kerr continued (h/t Yahoo!). "It only works if the whole team buys in.

"I know these guys well — I know five of them really well, and I'm getting to know Chris. One thing that I know about all of them is that they want to win more than anything."

The Suns and Warriors will meet on the NBA's opening night to begin the 2023-24 season. That will be the first time we see if Paul will start or come off the bench.
