Report: Jazz Interested in Deandre Ayton

The Utah Jazz are reportedly interested in trading for Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton.

Just moments after the Utah Jazz dealt center Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves, they might not be done making moves.

Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro reported that Utah has shown interest in acquiring Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton.

Ayton, a restricted free agent, would not be able to sign an offer sheet with Utah if he wanted to facilitate a sign-and-trade with the Jazz.

Phoenix would have two days to match any offer Ayton receives as part of his restricted free agency.

The Suns are currently in the process of putting together a trade package for Kevin Durant, although the Jazz could be a pivotal third team used to facilitate that deal by accepting Ayton. Brooklyn reportedly does not want Phoenix's No. 1 pick.

The Jazz just received numerous players in their deal for Gobert, which includes the following: Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Walker Kessler, Jarred Vanderbilt and Leandro Bolmaro.

They also have four of Minnesota's future first-round picks in their arsenal.

Ayton is in search of a max contract, something the Suns aren't necessarily keen on giving. Any trade involving just two teams and Ayton must see the other team move $24 million in cap space out while Phoenix can only take back roughly $19 million.

Although potential suitors have dropped interest in Ayton since the start of free agency, he may have just found a new home.
