Beal has missed each game to start the regular season with lower back issues, which also plagued him during preseason play as well. After being labeled as out for every game thus far, he was upgraded to questionable yesterday for the first time all season.
Now, Beal is expected to make his debut.
Devin Booker was previously ruled out as he continues to deal with his own slew of injuries, which has now evolved from a toe ailment to a sprained ankle and now a calf strain.
Kevin Durant has been the lone member of Phoenix's star trio to play each game. He spoke to reporters recently and
"I know how much these dudes love to play," Durant said on Booker/Beal. "They hate just being on the sidelines. We don't want them to rush. We don't want them to feel like it's pressure to come back because we lose a couple of games. We want them to be 100% healthy for the rest of the season."
Beal was packaged alongside Jordan Goodwin and Isaiah Todd from the Washington Wizards in exchange for Chris Paul, Landry Shamet, six second-round draft picks and four first-round pick swaps earlier this summer.. The first-round pick swaps are in 2024, 2026, 2028 and 2030.
The Suns are currently 3-4 to begin the season. Phoenix will finish their road trip in Chicago before traveling back home to face the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.
Opening tip tonight is scheduled for just past 6:00 PM Arizona time.
