Suns Hope to Extend Winning Streak as Wizards Visit Town

It's odd how quickly things can change.
Two weeks ago, the Phoenix Suns were the No. 1 seed in the West, looking like the caliber of team everybody in the Valley had hoped and expected.
Last week, the Suns pieced together a five-game losing skid that made everyone question if Phoenix needed to eventually pull the trigger on a drastic trade to improve the roster.
Now, Phoenix is again on a winning streak and just one game back from first in the conference after defeating the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday.
Now, the Suns quickly shift their attention to the Washington Wizards to complete their third back-to-back of the season.
Washington currently rides a ten-game losing streak and has won just one of their last 14 games. Their stop in Phoenix will be the fourth of a six-game road trip in the West with Sacramento and Utah still on deck.
Bradley Beal (23.2), Kristaps Porzingis (22.4) and Kyle Kuzma (21.3) all average over 20 per night for the Wizards.
The Suns hope to get Devin Booker back in the fold after he missed Monday's win with groin soreness. Booker previously dealt with a hamstring strain before coming back to drop 58 points against the Pelicans on Saturday.
At least every starter in Phoenix's lineup scored 15 points against Los Angeles. Chris Paul, who scored a season-high 28 points, said the team is nearly unstoppable when they play at the pace they want to.
“When we play at that pace, there ain’t much the other team can do if they are in coverage. If we get a hit on the screen, we going to figure out how to maneuver, guys will go under. I feel more comfortable shooting when they go under. When we play like that, it is tough to stop us," Paul said.
Opening tip is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Arizona time.
