Sacramento Kings center Damontas Sabonis is one of the best players in the league - and now two former Phoenix Suns will be behind him on the depth chart.

Today, ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Kings were releasing centers Nerlens Noel and Neemias Queta today. This clears the way for JaVale McGee and Alex Len to remain on the Kings' final roster.

"ESPN Sources: After signing JaVale McGee to a free agent deal, the Sacramento Kings are waiving centers Nerlens Noel and Neemias Queta to give them a chance to play elsewhere. Both signed partially guaranteed one-year deals with Kings this summer.

"The Kings’ center position is set for the season now: All-Star Domantas Sabonis, Alex Len and McGee."

McGee was just recently signed after being waived by the Dallas Mavericks after the first year of a three-year contract signed in 2022. McGee previously featured for the Suns during the 2021-22 season and impressed with 9.2 points and 6.7 rebounds per game behind Deandre Ayton.

The Mavericks were hoping to see some of that same success, though he rarely touched the floor in Dallas.

Len was made the No. 5 pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Suns, who stayed with the organization through the 2017-18 season. Len never started more than 46 games in a season when he was in Phoenix.

Now, both players look to help the Kings reach new heights after Sacramento ended their long postseason hiatus in 2022-23.

Sabonis - a three-time NBA All-Star - averaged nearly 35 minutes per game last season.
