'Never jumped that high in my life': Anthony Edwards dominates Pacers

Karl-Anthony Towns missed the game and Monte Morris left due to hamstring soreness.

Anthony Edwards put on a special performance on a night the Timberwolves needed him more than usual. With Karl-Anthony Towns out indefinitely with a knee injury – and Monte Morris unavailable due to hamstring soreness – Edwards put Minnesota on his back and carried them to a huge road win over the Indiana Pacers.

Edwards finished with a game-high 44 points, including 29 in the second half – and he finished the game with a chase-down block at the buzzer to secure a 113-111 win for Minnesota. He got so high on the left-handed block that he hit his head on the rim.

"I hit my head, I think on the rim. It's hurting real bad. And I landed on my wrist," Edwards told Marney Gellner on Bally Sports North immediately after the win. "I ain't never jumped that high in my life."

Edwards was clutch as can be late, hitting a 3 to put Minnesota up 108-105 with 1:11 to play and then hitting a jumper the next trip down the court for a 110-105 lead with 47 seconds to go.

Indiana answered with a 3 from Myles Turner only for Edwards to punch back with another jumper with 22 seconds remaining for a 112-108 lead. The Pacers got three more to cut the deficit to one point with 16.7 seconds to go and it was Edwards who hit one of two free throws with 7.2 seconds left before his highlight-reel block.

Edwards left 26 seconds into the game when he turned his left ankle only to return, and later in the first half he fell hard and again went to the locker room before returning to action.

"I think I'm a pretty tough dude," Edwards told Gellner.
