Magic Johnson Fires Back at Steph Curry's GOAT Point Guard Claim

In this story:
During a recent episode of Gil's Arena, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry declared himself the greatest point guard of all-time. While Curry was very respectful to Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson, the Warriors star went with himself, which has been a topic of debate all summer.
During an appearance on CBS Sports Radio's The Zach Gelb Show, Magic was asked about Curry's claim, and fired back with a list of accolades that he believes end the discussion.
"If he got more than five championships, if he got more than three Finals MVPs, and three league MVPs, then he's the greatest. If he got more than number one in assists all-time in the Finals, number two in double-doubles, number one in triple-doubles all-time in the NBA playoffs, number four in steals all-time in the in playoffs, if he got more than those numbers, then he's the best… If he got more than all those things, he's the best. But the last time I checked, he doesn't."

Magic emphatically makes the case as to why it's still him‼️

In typical Magic fashion, he said all of this with a smile on his face and a big laugh at the end, but it was clear he felt strongly about the debate. While Magic has more career accolades than Curry does, Curry's legacy is still being written. This debate is an interesting one, because Magic's accolades are undeniable, but so is Curry's unmatched impact on basketball - which is paired with his extensive list of accolades.
Both legendary point guards have accomplishments the other does not, and while Magic's may total more than Curry's at this moment, there's a case to be made for both players.
