The Sports Xchange -- Despite earlier hints that he might retire or hold out, Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed will report to camp on time on Wednesday, coach John Harbaugh said via the team's Twitter account.

"Ed Reed will report to training camp tomorrow, according to John Harbaugh. Coach said he had a great talk with the veteran safety," the team tweeted Tuesday.

Wednesday is the first day for veterans to report to camp.

Reed had said last week he planned to rejoin the team despite missing a mandatory minicamp.

Reed, 33, would like a contract extension, but the Ravens apparently want Reed to play out the six-year, $40 million contract he signed in 2006. He is scheduled to make $7.2 million this year.

Reed has been named a first-team all-pro five times, and has been named to eight Pro Bowls, including the last six in a row.
