Cincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard and linebacker Vontaze Burfict will likely not play on Sunday, according to the team's website

Bernard has injuries to both his hip and shoulder. He has not played since Week 8 against the Ravens. Rookie Jeremy Hill has taken over as the team's top running back in Bernard's absence. Hill had 154 yards and two touchdowns against the Jaguars in Week 9.

Burfict had arthroscopic surgery on his knee on Oct. 29, three days after the Bengals' game against Baltimore. He was expected to be out for at least two games with the injury; this will be his third game missed.

Jadeveon Clowney to return vs. Browns, will be used in limited role

Burfict was the team's leading tackler last season. Bernard started all 16 games at running back in 2013, but received fewer carries than BenJarvus Green-Ellis.

The Bengals are 5-3-1 this season and currently hold the AFC's sixth and final playoff spot.
