Chiefs’ Andy Reid Stars in Reboot of Famous Snickers Commercial
Fresh off swiping fries, burgers, and chicken nuggets from Patrick Mahomes in a recent State Farm commercial, Chiefs coach Andy Reid is breaking out on his own with a new ad campaign that makes a nod to the past.
Snickers is featuring the two-time Super Bowl champion in a spot in which an end zone is being painted and Reid comes in at the end to point out that a big mistake has been made.
"Hey, that's great," Reid says to the groundskeeper, putting an arm around him. "But who are the Chefs?"
"Great googly moogly," the worker responds, seeing his error clearly.

If that ad seems familiar, well, it should.
The new Snickers spot is a reboot and update of a 1996 commercial in which a veteran end zone painter forgets the "i" in "Chiefs." No actual NFL players or coaches pointed out the error in that one. But now, fans expect the real thing to appear in spots like this. So Reid gets to make the key joke.
Really, with Mahomes, Reid and Travis Kelce starring in seemingly every ad that plays during a football telecast, Snickers couldn’t produce an ad referencing the Chiefs and not use one of those personalities. With Reid’s presence, this commercial could become as much of a classic as the original.
