The domino effect of injuries just never subsides for the San Francisco 49ers as head coach Kyle Shanahan has revealed via conference call that Ronald Blair III has a torn ACL. Blair suffered the injury when he chased down Russell Wilson to sack him at the line of scrimmage. It was a critical play in the game that he executed on to keep the 49ers alive. Blair will miss the remainder of the season to have it surgically repaired.

As for Joe Staley he just made his return on Monday night, he has suffered a fractured finger. He will get a second opinion on it, but it doesn't look good for the veteran. Of course, the injuries do not stop there. It wouldn't feel right if there wasn't a handful of them. The amount this team sustains is just unreal.

To go along with Blair and Staley, D.J. Jones, who had the first sack on Russell Wilson, will miss this Sunday's game with a groin injury and is considered week-to-week. Matt Breida will also likely miss Sunday with an ankle sprain, though he is currently seeking a second opinion.

Lastly, Emmanuel Sanders exited the game on Monday night with an apparent rib injury. Shanahan revealed that it does not appear serious, but it is the cartilage in his rib that is bothering him. Sanders will be considered day-to-day and is a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup.

Honestly, will the 49ers ever catch a break with these injuries?

It truly is the main derailment for this football team. You just have to sympathize with these guys because they cannot reach their potential when their players are dropping like flies. The 49ers will have some major decisions to make on which players they will want to activate off of injured reserve now that the activation period is open.
