49ers' wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders has exited the game and gone into the locker room with an apparent rib injury. The injury doesn't appear to have occurred on a contact play. Sanders was seen grabbing his chest area as he ran a route.

Whether he will return to the game or not is up in the air. If he is not able, that will be a blow to the 49ers' offense as Sanders was putting defenders on skates with two catches for 24 yards.

The 49ers are already without star tight end George Kittle, so the receiving options for Jimmy Garoppolo are starting to dwindle down. That means the back end of the depth chart of the wideouts must fill for Sanders.

Kendrick Bourne has stepped up in a big way as well as rookie Deebo Samuel. Stay tuned for updates on the severity and status of Sanders as the game progresses.
