In this story:

Bears safety Eddie Jackson is active for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings and available to start for the first time since Week 2 against Tampa Bay.

Jackson had a foot injury in that game and left. The Bears didn't put him on IR after the injury.

Of note is that the Bears did not activate center Doug Kramer from injured reserve, and because Lucas Patrick is not listed inactive it would appear he is available to play or even start. Patrick was in concussion protocol this past week but coach Matt Eberflus had said he was close to clearing all of the check points in the protocol.

If he's healthy enough to play, the only question for the lineup is how he'll be used, if at all. Cody Whitehair would be the center if it's not Patrick.

Bears inactives are:

  • CB Terell Smith
  • RB Travis Homer
  • RB Roschon Johnson
  • T Aviante Collins
  • QB Nathan Peterman*

Smith (ankle), Homer (hamstring) and Johnson (concussion) are injured this week.

*Emergency QB

Vikings inactives are:

  • S Lewis Cine
  • TE Nick Muse
  • OLB Andre Carter II
  • T Hakeem Adeniji
  • DL Jaquelin Roy
