Former Bears assistant Greg Olson is the team's fourth offensive coordinator candidate to be reported.

Olson, 60, has had a long coaching career in the NFL starting with the 2001 season for the San Francisco 49ers as quarterbacks coach. He's currently the quarterbacks coach under Seattle offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, another reported candidate for the Bears offensive coordinator position.

Olson was with the Bears as quarterbacks coach in 2003 under Dick Jauron when John Shoop was the offensive coordinator. He was with the Bears only one season but has been with eight NFL teams.

Like with two of the other candidates, Waldron and Liam Coen, Olson spent time on the staff of Rams coach Sean McVay. It was in 2017 and also in 2022. The other reported candidate is 49ers passing game coordinator Klint Kubiak.

The other teams Olson worked for were: the Lions as quarterbacks coach 2004-2005; the Rams as offensive coordinator with St. Louis in 2006-07, as QB coach in 2017 in Los Angeles and 20022; Buccaneers as QB coach and offensive coordinator from 2008-2011; Jaguars in 2012 as assistant head coach and QB coach 2015-16 as offensive coordinator; the Raiders in Oakland and Las Vegas as offensive coordinator in 2013-14 and 2018-2021.

With the Rams, he was offensive coordinator when Marc Bulger became the fourth quarterback ever to have a 4,000-yard passing season.
