Frantic Fan Base Goes Over the Edge ... Again

In this story:
With Bears fans hanging on edge over the team's quarterback decision, the slightest movement, comment or word seems to set off everyone.
It happened earlier when the Bears had Justin Fields' photo on an ad for their coming 2024 game in London. It was interpreted as a "sign" that Fields would return as their quarterback.
On Monday it happened again when it was noticed Fields no longer was following the Chicago Bears on Instagram.

There was no real positive confirmation he actually ever was following them. Fields' still has photos on his Instagram account with his Bears uniform on, and that's often the first thing that goes when a player has some sort of beef with his currrent team. Former Bears receiver Allen Robinson pulled team photos he had off his social media when he had a negotiation standoff with the team, for instance.
Nevertheless, the result was a flood of comments about this as a sign the Bears had told Fields or someone affiliated with him that he is being traded to another team.
A similar situation happened on the same day when Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reported teams sought out the Bears in Mobile, Ala. at the Senior Bowl in regards to Fields.

Whether any of this actually means anything about the future for the team is open to interpreation, and Fields was still following the Bears on Twitter, now known as "X." This was actually easier to determine.
There have been numerous mixed messages interpreted on this, from team president Kevin Warren's comment about liking Fields in an interview with Walter Payton's son, WGN's Jarrett Payton, to the decision to hire Shane Waldron as offensive coorinator and not Caleb Williams' USC offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury.

The team hasn't said anything one way or the other, but there is a press conference with their new offensive coordinator planned for later in the week. They also will have either coach Matt Eberflus or GM Ryan Poles or both talking to media at the NFL Scouting Combine next week.
The teeter-totter type situation only promises to continue until there actually is a verified report on the course of action the Bears are taking or some sort of announcement of a trade.
