Pittsburgh Has a Roster Opening

In this story:
The Pittsburgh Steelers gave former Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky his release Monday along with two other players and now at least one NFL insider sees the possibility the person they fill his roster spot with could eventually be another Bears quarterback.
To be more precise, it could be another former Bears quarterback drafted by former GM Ryan Pace.
During an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, ESPN's Adam Schefter acknowledged the possibility the Steelers will be interested in Justin Fields, and dropped a strong statement potentially tying that knot in the future.
"We know that Pittsburgh is going to go out and get some type of quarterback, whether that's Ryan Tannehill, whether that's Russell Wilson, whether that's Justin Fields who, I know (coach) Mike Tomlin's a big fan of Justin fields. We'll keep that in mind during the offseason of the coming weeks."
So this would be a trade of Fields to the Steelers. Tomlin's Steelers faced Fields once and it was possibly the best passing game Fields ever had.
Fields went 17 of 29 for 291 yards with a touchdown, an interception and 45 yards rushing on eight attempts.
All along a quarterback for the Steelers like Fields has felt like a good fit considering they have to be getting sick at this point of chasing around Lamar Jackson twice a season. They could have someone of their own for the Ravens defense to chase.
"So there'll be a decision that that organization has to make in terms of the quarterback that they want to bring in but they're not just going to leave it as Kenny Pickett, his starting job," Schefter said. "Mike Tomlin made that very clear."
Oh yeah, Pickett. There's that.

If this did occur and the Bears deal with Pittsburgh in a trade of Fields, the Steelers have the 20th pick in Round 1, the 51st pick in Round 2 and 84th pick in Round 3 and Nos. 119 and 120 in Round 4 if there needs to be maneuvering to fit the value chart.
Again, no one has reported there is such a trade imminent but Schefter's knowledge of the situation says Tomlin is a "big fan" of Fields.
Fields has a lot of those in Chicago, too, but they'll have to become fans of Caleb Williams or some other QB if that move came down.
Such a move would serve one desired purpose and that would be to send Fields to an AFC team so the Bears would only face him on rare occasion.
