CINCINNATI — Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is expected to become the highest paid player in NFL history in the near future.

Cincinnati is hoping to sign Burrow to a record-breaking contract extension between now and the start of the season. The 26-year-old is hoping to find a deal that makes sense for everyone involved.

"I'm focused on getting a deal done that's good for us, good for me, good for the team and good for everybody," Burrow said on Thursday

He had a great practice session before making those comments, which included a long touchdown throw to Tee Higgins.

The star wide-out is also eligible for a contract extension.

"You want to keep guys together for a long time and build chemistry and that translates onto the field," Burrow said

He also hinted that he's talked with Ja'Marr Chase and Higgins about contract details and staying in Cincinnati long-term.

"We talk about a lot of different things," he said with a smirk

Burrow's contract is going to get done at some point. Will the Bengals also sign Higgins to an extension and have enough left over for Chase next offseason?

That's a question that will be asked often over the next 12 months.
