Same Song & Dance: Buffalo Bills Booed vs. Denver Broncos, Trail at Halftime

In a running theme this season, the Buffalo Bills came out flat and lifeless and trail the Denver Broncos 15-8 at halftime.

Buffalo Bills fans are feeling a sense of Deja Vu after the first half of Monday's game against the Denver Broncos.

First halves have been a problem for the Bills for weeks now, and this game is no exception as they trail 12-8 heading into the locker room.

The start of the game went about as poorly as it possibly could've for Buffalo. On literally the first play from scrimmage, Bills running back James Cook fumbled to set the Broncos up in great position, which led to him being benched for a while. Then after gaining a bit of momentum on the next drive, Josh Allen's pass deflected off Gabe Davis' hands and directly into the arms of Denver safety Justin Simmons. At that point, the only silver lining for the Bills was the fact that the Broncos couldn't take advantage of those turnovers and only led 3-0.

After both teams exchanged punts for several drives, Denver then added to its lead in improbable fashion. On a fourth and two, Russell Wilson evaded the Bills pressure and threw it up to Courtland Sutton in the back corner of the end zone, although he was initially ruled out. Replays showed that Sutton did, in fact, get both feet down, giving the Broncos a 9-0 lead.

At that point, Buffalo's offense finally woke up and put together a good drive. The Bills marched 81 yards in less than four minutes, and Allen capped off the drive with a 22-yard pass to a wide-open Dalton Kincaid. Allen then hit Davis on the two-point conversion to cut the lead to just one.

That good feeling didn't last long, though. The Broncos responded with another field goal on their next drive, then Allen threw another pick on the first play of the Bills' ensuing possession. Denver then capitalized with another field goal as time expired in the half.

Allen completed nine of 15 passes for 86 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions, marking his sixth straight game with a pick. Latavius Murray has 54 yards on six carries, while Kincaid has three receptions for 35 yards and the aforementioned touchdown.

On the Denver side, Wilson completed 12 of 14 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown. Sutton leads the Broncos in receiving with 47 yards on four catches.

The Bills will be on defense to start the second half as they look for a bit more of a spark.
