Bills Announce Re-Signing of CB Cam Lewis

The Buffalo Bills are bringing back Cam Lewis, ensuring they maintain depth in the secondary.

With the legal tampering period officially opening in the NFL on Monday, teams are now able to begin negotiating contracts with impending free agents on possible deals.

And on Monday afternoon the Buffalo Bills announced another round of roster moves which included the re-signing of cornerback Cam Lewis to a one-year deal.

Lewis was set to hit free agency this offseason, and is entering his fourth season as a Bill after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Buffalo following the 2019 draft.

Last season he appeared in 13 games, and earned his fourth-career start in the process. He was an integral part of Buffalo's special teams unit, with his career-high 11 special teams tackles tied for first on the Bills.

Through three seasons, Lewis has appeared in 25 games for the Bills, with 34 total tackles in those three seasons, one of which was a tackle for loss - as well as a forced fumble and one pass defended.

While Lewis has not been a key starter in the Bills secondary so far in his career, maintaining depth is important to ensure they remain a contender in an increasingly loaded AFC East.

From the Miami Dolphins trading for cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the New York Jets potentially on the verge of trading for quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the Bills' divisional foes aren't playing around.

No, bringing back Lewis isn't as flashy of a move as the other two, but it will be a small step towards keeping the Bills on top of the AFC East.
