The Buffalo Bills could be closing in on hiring the newest coaching staff member.

According to a report from The Athletic's Bruce Feldman, the Bills are "expected" to hire current Miami Hurricanes secondary coach Jahmile Addae as their new cornerback coach.

Addae, a 39-year-old former NFL cornerback who spent one season in the NFL in 2006, following a college career at West Virginia, is now a young coach on the rise.

Before joining the Hurricanes coaching staff ahead of the 2022 season, where he coached under Mario Cristobal for two seasons, he spent a year at Georgia under now two-time national championship-winning head coach and former longtime Nick Saban assistant Kirby Smart.

In his lone season in Athens, Addae helped the Bulldogs capture their first national title in over 40 years as he served as their defensive backs coach in 2021.

Addae helped coach a Georgia defense that made an argument for being one of the best of all time, as they ranked No. 13 in passing yards per game while being the nation's No. 1 scoring defense.

In addition to having 14 players from that defense being selected in the NFL Draft. Four of those 14 draft picks were coached by Addae in 2021 as members of the secondary.

Before that, Addae had spent time coaching at his alma mater in West Virginia, Minnesota, Arizona, Cincinnati, and Michigan, all of which helped him get his first shot in the NFL with the Bills.
