Josh Allen Shoulder Surgery? Bills Injury Decision

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen dealt with a shoulder injury that had him on the injury report for most of the season.

Hours after another heartbreaking playoff loss for the Buffalo Bills, there is good news for the and its franchise quarterback.

Speaking to reporters Monday following the 27-24 Divisional loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Allen said that he doesn't expect to have surgery for a shoulder injury that landed him on the injury report for much of the season. Allen first appeared on the Bills' injury report in Week 7 because of the shoulder issue and remained on it until Week 17.

Despite being on the injury report for nine straight weeks, Allen felt his shoulder improved as the season progressed. 

"It felt like it kept getting better as the season went on, especially these last four weeks, " Allen said. "Felt like it didn't bother me at all, so I don't think there's anything going on."

Despite dealing with the injury, Allen was at his best this postseason, though, Buffalo fell short again to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs Sunday at Highmark Stadium. Allen completed 26 of 39 passes for 186 yards and one touchdown while also finishing the game as the team's leading rusher with 72 yards and two scores. 

Allen accounted for 258 of the Bills' 368 yards on offense and all three touchdowns against a Chiefs defense that allowed the second-fewest points per game in the regular season.

For the postseason, Allen completed 47 of 69 passes for 389 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for 146 yards and three scores.
