Buffalo Bills vs. Denver Broncos Preview: Another Upset Brewing?

Buffalo Bills vs. Denver Broncos Preview: Another Upset Brewing

In Week 10, the Buffalo Bills look to right the ship as they host the Denver Broncos in prime time on Monday night.

Buffalo's inconsistent play has led to losing three of its last five games. The Bills would not make the playoffs if they started today, sitting in third place in the AFC East and ninth place in the AFC.

Rest advantage goes to the the Broncos, who had 15 days to enjoy their Week 8 upset over the Kansas City Chiefs. The 24-9 win was only the third time in Patrick Mahomes' career that Kansas City was held out of the end zone.

Despite their 3-5 record, the Broncos have the wind at their heels after back-to-back wins over the Green Bay Packers and Chiefs.

“Clearly, I feel like we are a better team than we were four or five weeks ago,” coach Sean Payton said. “From an overview of the team, I think we are a lot further down the road. Because of that, you get more invested and recognize the next opportunity at hand.”

After a deflating 24-18 Sunday night defeat in Cincinnati, the Bills head back to the friendly confines of Highmark Stadium. Buffalo is 4-1 at home this season, while Josh Allen 31-7 in his career at Highmark Stadium.

In a game that could set the tone for the second half of the season, Allen and the offense looks to find its rhythm this week. Buffalo has struggled to get its rushing attack going. In Week 9, Allen completed 26 of 38 passes for 258 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Allen was also the team's leading rusher, with eight carries for 44 yards and a touchdown on the offense's opening drive.

The Bills defense looks to get after Denver quarterback Russell Wilson. Wilson has began to find his footing with the Broncos, as he’s completing 66.1 percent of his passes with 16 touchdowns and only four interceptions.

Watch for Denver receiver Courtland Sutton: Sutton’s 33 catches for 380 yards and six touchdowns lead the team in all three categories.

The Bills sit two games behind the first-place Miami Dolphins in the division. With eight games remaining, every win gets them closer to qualifying for the postseason.
