Buffalo Bills Work Out Tight Ends Amidst Dawson Knox, Dalton Kincaid Injuries

With three tight ends currently on the injury report, the Buffalo Bills are evaluating all their options at the position.

The Buffalo Bills are currently dealing with a litany of injuries, and perhaps no position is more beat up than their tight end room.

Their top two tight ends, Dawson Knox (wrist) and rookie first-round pick Dalton Kincaid (concussion), both came back from London with injuries last week, with the latter even missing Sunday night's game against the New York Giants. As those two are now on the mend, third stringer Quintin Morris (ankle), who filled in admirably and scored the go-ahead touchdown on Sunday night, now finds himself on the injury report as well.

Kincaid and Knox were both full participants at Thursday's practice while Morris sat out. Regardless, the Bills have looked at some outside reinforcements. Per NFL insider Aaron Wilson, the Bills worked out tight ends E.J. Jenkins and Austin Allen on Wednesday.

Standing at 6-7 and 243 pounds, Jenkins entered the league as an undrafted free agent earlier this year. He began his collegiate career with four years at FCS St. Francis, before transferring to South Carolina in 2021 and Georgia Tech in 2022. Last year with the Yellow Jackets, he had 17 receptions for 316 yards and three touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Allen, who stands at 6-9 and 255 pounds, was an undrafted free agent last year who has spent time on the practice squad for both the Giants and the Green Bay Packers. He has yet to appear in a regular-season game, but put up solid numbers with Nebraska in college. In 2021, the former Cornhuskers tight end had 38 receptions for 602 yards and two touchdowns.

The question is, will the Bills sign either tight end? It's possible, but with the way their current tight end room is trending, it may not be necessary. Knox and Kincaid were both full participants in Wednesday's practice, and with the former already playing in the previous game, it seems like they're going to be alright.

The Bills travel to face the division-rival New England Patriots on Sunday, hoping to have their tight end group back on the field.
