Broncos 2020 Roster Breakdown: KJ Hamler | WR

KJ Hamler is a speedster, that much is known by fans. But what else can he bring to the Broncos offense and how will he fit in 2020?

We'll scrutinize each player's history, dating back to college, and what they bring to the 2020 Broncos. Next up? Second-round wideout KJ Hamler.

Explosive. Dynamic. Fast. Small. 

Those are the first words that come to mind when I think of Hamler. He was such an interesting prospect to watch at Penn State because of how explosive an athlete he is and how badly he can make teams pay when he had the ball in his hands.

The issues Hamler has with drops are a concern which come with bad catching technique and poor focus. Then, there's his size. To put it simply, Hamler is limited to how he can make an impact in the NFL, but that doesn't affect his explosiveness as a weapon. 

Hamler's issues with drops can be developed and worked on with WRs Coach Zach Azzanni, but it is rare to see massive improvements in that area from college football to the NFL, so he just has to make every touch count.

Adding Hamler made a lot of sense because of how the Broncos lacked explosive plays in 2019 from their offense. Not having an explosive, dynamic offensive weapon hurt along with not having anyone who could consistently challenge the safeties 20-plus yards down the field. 

With the addition of first-round WR Jerry Jeudy, Drew Lock and Courtland Sutton just got a lot of help, but Hamler provides even more of a complement to the offense. For a deep-dive look at Hamler and how he fits, check out the video above.
