Broncos 2020 Roster Breakdown: McTelvin Agim

Each summer, Mile High Huddle goes player by player to break down the Denver Broncos' roster. That’s right, all 90 of them.

We'll scrutinize each player's history, dating back to college, and what they bring to the 2020 Broncos. Next up? McTelvin Agim, the rookie defensive lineman out of Arkansas.

The Broncos had three third-round picks in the 2020 draft and Agim was the third selection. Denver is a team trying to revamp its defensive line after letting Derek Wolfe and Adam Gotsis walk in free agency.

Agim is a versatile player that can play multiple spots for Denver giving the unit a boost. He has a good pass-rush arsenal that should help him find ways to contribute earlier on in the season, but his game as a run defender could cause some issues if he doesn’t get them worked out.

Working with DL Coach Bill Kollar and playing in the D-line-friendly scheme of Vic Fangio can also be a major help to Agim as a rookie. Everything will be a little simpler and these coaches know how to develop players on the line.

One of the best things about the selection of Agim is that it was more of a pick for the future than actually for the 2020 season. With Shelby Harris on a one-year deal and Jurrell Casey set to turn 31 later this year, the questions about the long-term viability of the Broncos line was questionable.
