As they officially kick off their 2024 offseason program, the Denver Broncos welcomed a new player to the manger on Monday, signing veteran defensive lineman Angelo Blackson, 9NEWS' Mike Klis reported.

A 2015 fourth-round pick out of Auburn, Blackson is onto his eighth NFL team after previously spending time with the Titans, Patriots, Texans, Cardinals, Bears, Ravens, and Jaguars. The 6-foot-4, 305-pound defender has collected 106 solo tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 27 quarterback hits, 8.5 sacks, and eight pass breakups across 128 career games, including 42 starts.

Blackson, who turns 32 in November, made 11 appearances for Jacksonville last season, earning a 66.1 run-defending grade on 75 chartable snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.

"Space-eater who can eat blocks up but won't spit out much production," reads his pre-draft scouting profile. "Is a liability as a pass rusher and might need to add more mass to lock in as a pure, two-gap nose who can help to keep linebackers clean."

Together with fellow free-agent addition Malcolm Roach, and reuniting with coordinator Vance Joseph from their Arizona days, Blackson projects as a depth fixture along Denver's defensive line, behind DE Zach Allen and (presumably) NT D.J. Jones.

Behind them on the depth chart are Elijah Garcia, Matt Henningsen, Jordan Jackson, and Rashard Lawrence.
