Well, that didn't go so well. The Denver Broncos dropped their regular-season opener, falling 24-16 to the Oakland Raiders on Monday night.

It was an ugly, flat performance by the Broncos, but look at the bright side. At least the Broncos had a reality check right out of the gates.

Unlike the previous head-coaching regime, who started hot in 2017 and 2018, creating a false sense of security and confidence, the 2019 Broncos took a gut-punch out of the gates and instead of scrambling for answers a month or so into the season, the team can get on top of and out in front of the problems presented in Week 1 and fix them before they become epidemic.

This week, the 0-1 Chicago Bears are coming to town and the Broncos will make their 2019 home debut. This is our Game Week Hub, where you can find everything you need to know about CHIvsDEN in one easy place.

From how to watch, to injury reports, to historical factoids, what to watch for and more, this article will contain all the salient details for the Broncos' season opener at the Oakland Raiders on Monday Night Football. Let's get to the info.

Horse Droppings

• Denver enters Sunday's game against Chicago with a 45-13-1 (.771) all-time record in home openers, including a 17-1 mark in its last 18 such games (since Empower Field at Mile High opened in 2001).

• The Broncos are undefeated in home openers after Week 1 (7 games) since Empower Field at Mile High was opened in 2001.

• Wide receiver Courtland Sutton and inside linebacker Josey Jewell both delivered their career-high performances in Denver's 24-16 loss to Oakland on Monday Night Football.

• Denver is seeking to become the sixth team since its inaugural season in 1960 to reach 500 overall wins with a win against Chicago.

• Vic Fangio, a 40-year coaching veteran with 32 seasons of NFL experience, made his head coaching debut as the 17th head coach in franchise history against Oakland on Sept. 9.

• OLB Malik Reed became the 23rd undrafted Bronco since 1997 to make the Week 1 roster out of training camp. Denver has had at least one CFA make the team in 15 of the last 16 seasons.

• The Broncos’ active roster features 19 players (35.8%) who were not with the team in 2018. That total includes seven players who joined the Broncos after initial roster cutdowns.

• Newly acquired 12th-year quarterback Joe Flacco owns the most road playoff victories (7) in NFL history and is tied for fifth among active quarterbacks in overall wins (106).

• WR Emmanuel Sanders became the 10th Bronco to eclipse 5,000 yards in Denver's season-opening loss at Oak. (9/9).

What To Watch For

7 consecutive home-opener wins: Broncos can extend its NFL-best seven-game win streak in home openers.

499 wins: Denver would become the 14th team to reach 500 overall wins with a win.

Harris closing in on 20 INT: CB Chris Harris, Jr. needs one interception to become the 12th Bronco to intercept 20 passes for the franchise.

Von Miller can move up all-time sacks list (98 career sacks): Miller needs one sack to pass Joey Porter into sole possession of 33rd place on the NFL's all-time sack list.

Two gets Miller to 100: Von needs two sacks to become just the 33rd NFL player to reach 100 career sacks; he would also become the fourth-fastest player (Reggie White - 96 GP, DeMarcus Ware - 113 GP, Bruce Smith - 115 GP) to reach that milestone.

Sanders poised to eclipse Sharpe, McCaffrey: WR Emmanuel Sanders needs one 100-yard receiving game to pass Pro Football Hall of Fame TE Shannon Sharpe and WR Ed McCaffrey into fourth place in franchise history with 19 100-yard receiving games.
