Newly Acquired Shelby Harris Suits Up

For the newly acquired defensive tackle, getting to camp late means he has some catching up to do.

As the Cleveland Browns prepare to kickoff their third preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles tonight, it appears that it's possible we may get a look at newly acquired defensive tackle Shelby Harris. While nothing has been announced officially, Harris is dressed for the game and he make his debut in a Browns uniform.

Harris would be the only expected starter to play in tonight's game. His situation is unlike any of the other starters as Harris just practiced for the first time on Monday. The team would probably like to bring him along in their system and get him some reps. I wouldn't expect to see him long as he will most likely be on a snap count.

Harris will pair with Dalvin Tomlinson as the two starters at defensive tackle along the defensive line. Harris has played nine seasons and was most recently with the Seattle Seahawks. He was a victim of the salary cap as he was cut in order for the Seahawks to save almost $9M on this year's cap.

Harris would eventually sign a one year deal with the Browns worth up to $5.25M. Tonight the mission for Harris would be looking strong at the point of contact and maybe shutdown a few runs by eating up blocks. Ultimately though, the number one priority would be to leave healthy.
