Browns Release First Injury Report of 2023

Week one of the NFL season is officially in full-swing as teams across the league are required to announce an official injury report each day of practice. In a rare occurrence it appears that all 53 players from the roster were able to practice.

The biggest injury news for the Browns today was that starting cornerback Denzel Ward who is still in the concussion protocol since August 26th was able to return to practice on a limited basis. He would still need to be cleared from the protocol but returning today is certainly a positive sign to him being available in Cincinnati barring a setback. Friday's practice report and whether he is able to fully go will be the most telling.

Overall it seems the Browns have done a masterful job at getting their team into the season opener healthy. With the exceptions of season ending injuries to wide receiver Jakeem Grant and linebacker Jacob Phillips, the team has every potential contributing player at the ready for week-one.

The team also navigated a few non-football related medical conditions with wide receiver Marquise Goodwin and tight end Harrison Bryant during training camp. Goodwin was diagnosed with blood clots prior to training camp beginning and Bryant was held out several weeks for an undisclosed medical issue. Both have been back practicing for over a week and seem prepared to play Sunday.

One specific player to keep an eye on his availability for Sunday will be defensive end Alex Wright. Wright suffered a knee injury that required a surgery during the Hall of Fame game and has been able to return to practice since. The full injury report for both teams on Wednesday is listed below.
