The Browns lead the NFL with (approximately) $4B in cap space for this season.
The Browns continue to utilize this restructure strategy to hopefully gain them a competitive advantage. They are spending a lot of money paid out to players in the form of bonuses and thus reducing the amount of base salary owed for this year of the contract.
The roster seems set and they probably don't have any plans of making a big move for a player. It does create flexibility moving forward for the team in the event of an injury or an opportunity to add a player that can't be passed up.
They are much more likely to allow the cap space to sit on the books which would then allow a portion of it to be rolled into next season when the Browns are projected to be over the cap by an approximate $30M.
For Wills, this means very little other than the timing of when he receives the money in his contract and he will be here through the end of next season after the team picked up his fifth-year option.
