The Cleveland Browns have reportedly made a few roster moves as a result of the injuries that the team suffered in Friday night's preseason game against the Washington Commanders.

Earlier it was reported that the team was signing running back Jordan Wilkins for depth. Now it is also being reported that the team has waived safety Bubba Bolden, who suffered a hamstring injury during last night's game. In addition, it looks like Jacob Phillips is being placed on Injured Reserve, which will effectively end his season.

As we wrote about earlier, Phillips tore a pectoral muscle on Friday night. It is the same injury that ended his season a year ago. Placing Phillips on injured reserve list should allow him to stay around the team and rehab his injury. This is a classy move by the team and just another example of why Cleveland is earning a great reputation for doing right by its players.

For Bolden, we would expect that the injury shouldn't keep him out very long, although the severity has not been disclosed. He spent the latter portion of last season on the Browns practice squad and intercepted a pass to close out the HOF game against the Jets.

The decision to waive him has everything to do with timing. With only a few weeks left, it leaves him unable to play in either of the two final games of the preseason so waiving him frees up the additional roster spot to enable the signing of Wilkins at running back.
