Browns Work Out Six Players Total

The Cleveland Browns worked out a total of six players on Friday. Earlier today we learned of the team working out veteran safety Erik Harris. That report caused me to wonder if perhaps there was some bad news coming in regard to Juan Thornhill's injury. It turns out that the team simply appears to be kicking the tires on guys because Thornhill would return to practice today.

Harris (6'2," 225 lbs) is 32 years old and has played a lot during his NFL career. He was originally signed to a futures deal with the Saints in 2016 after playing in the CFL. He would eventually go on to the Raiders where he became a starter in their secondary. He spent each of the last two seasons with the Falcons after signing as a free agent in 2021.

He has played in a total of 91 games during his career and totaled 5 interceptions with 2 defensive touchdowns. Last season with the Falcons he played in a total of 14 games. He finished the season with an overall 51.4 grade from Pro Football Focus.

The other players worked out today were the following:

S- Tyler Coyle (6'2" 215 lbs)

Coyle in my opinion would be the more interesting player if you were to add a safety. He spent the last two years with the Cowboys and was part of roster cuts at the end of camp. He is a very explosive and fast player who could be a nice addition to the practice squad.

LB- Caleb Johnson (6'2" 227 lbs)

Johnson played the last two years in Jacksonville and played in all seventeen games during the 2021 season. He was cut at the end of camp and later signed to the Jets practice squad before being recently released by them.

TE- Noah Togiai (6'4" 246 lbs)

Togiai has spent time with both the Colts and Eagles during his young career and played in seven games without registering a catch.

TE- Jake Tonges (6'4" 240)

Tonges spent his rookie season with the Bears last year and played in four games.

TE- E.J. Jenkins (6'6" 245)

The most interesting tight end to work out today would be Jenkins in my opinion. He had a solid camp with the Jets and has converted tight end after playing wide receiver at Georgia Tech. He could be an interesting guy to stash on the practice squad.
