Harris is 32 years old and has played a lot during his NFL career. He was originally signed to a futures deal with the Saints in 2016 after playing in the CFL. He would eventually go on to the Raiders where he became a starter in their secondary. He spent each of the last two seasons with the Falcons after signing as a free agent in 2021.
Harris (6'2," 225 lbs) has played in a total of 91 games during his career and totaled 5 interceptions with 2 defensive touchdowns. Last season with the Falcons he played in a total of 14 games. He finished the season with an overall 51.4 grade from Pro Football Focus.
This is an intriguing workout for the team and could be a potential sign for bad news in regard to starting safety Juan Thornhill and his calf injury. Thornhill missed the season opener against Cincinnati and didn't practice yesterday. While the full extent of his injury hasn't been disclosed, it could be a calf strain. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow missed approximately five weeks with his during training camp.
The team will play Monday night in Pittsburgh and have a short week to get ready for the Titans nine days from now. Should the team decide to place Thornhill on injured reserve he would be required to miss four games. The earliest he could return would be against the Colts in week 7.
We will certainly be watching out for new information as it becomes available today. The team will practice this afternoon.
