Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb has been nominated for the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week after his performance against the Bengals in Sunday’s home opener at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Chubb rushed for 106 yards on 18 carries, for an average of 5.9 yards per carry. He sparked the Browns offense and kept the chains moving on several key drives during the Browns 24-3 victory.

On a day that Chubb led the team on the field by waving a number 32 flag to honor the passing of Jim Brown, he decided to go old-school. Due to the wet conditions he wore no gloves to better secure the football.

Chubb is up against the Chargers Austin Ekeler and the 49ers Christian McCaffrey as Week 1 finalists for the award. As a Browns fan you can vote at the link below for the FedEx Ground and Air Players of the Week. FedEx has committed to donate money to HBCU’s on behalf of each running back and quarterback that wins weekly.

It would be a great way to start a season for Chubb, allowing him to pickup his first award of what hopefully is a very decorated season.
