Baker Mayfield Re-Signs With Buccaneers: Reactions

Baker Mayfield re-signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and many were pleased by the news.

Free agency just got underway, but luckily for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they were able to secure their big soon-to-be free agents before the onset of teams able to talk to unrestricted free agents and their agents.

One of those key pieces the Bucs were able to come to an agreement with was quarterback Baker Mayfield. Mayfield played 2023 on a team-friendly, prove-it deal and was able to put together the best season of his career masterfully.

Baker played so well, in fact, that he earned himself a nice payday, re-signing with Tampa Bay on a three-year, $100 million contract extension. With the news breaking on Sunday afternoon, Buccaneers' fans and players alike celebrated the signing.

With their main pieces sewn up, the Buccaneers front office can now turn their attention to figuring out the rest of the roster and start making moves in free agency to work on improving in areas that were more so weaknesses last season. Re-signing LB Lavonte David should be at the top of the list of to-dos for the Bucs and from there they will look to get busy in free agency - albeit without making a very big splash.
