The Dallas Cowboys and Tony Pollard failed to agree on a contract extension this offseason, and this leaves room for speculation about his long-term impact on the team.

With this, FloridaBet created hypothetical odds for Pollard's team for the 2024 season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+450) have the fifth-best odds to be his team after his contract expires. They're behind the Buffalo Bills (+400), New York Jets (+400), Miami Dolphins (+350) and Cowboys (-120).

The NFL's running back market is in the worst shape it's ever been in. Great running backs are struggling to get extended, and usually don't get paid after their franchise tag.

For the Buccaneers, this could be incredible timing. There's no answer as to where the team will be after this season. They could hold one of the worst records, landing themselves a franchise quarterback, or they could over-succeed. Either way, Pollard's services could be of use.

Say the Buccaneers land a Caleb Williams in the draft, his playing with a dynamic running back like Pollard helps him out immediately. In the case that the team oversucceeds, Pollard could be a player that they run an offense through, helping them make a potential playoff push.

Pollard is coming off his first 1,000+ rushing yards season of his career and will only improve as the starting running back as the spot is solely his own. He's going to prove his value in the upcoming season, and will likely play his way into a contract that he won't receive because of the market of running backs, so the Buccaneers may be able to get a star running back for a cheaper price.

The 26-year-old running back was a backup to Ezekiel Elliot, who remains without a team. He's now entering his fifth season as a pro and still has years left to contribute at a high level.
