In this story:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a successful 2023 season amid the skepticism that rode this team from the onset of the season and throughout out. They won the NFC South for a third consecutive season, made the playoffs, and went onto win their Wild Card game against the Philadelphia Eagles all while being handicapped with cap space and moving on from the Tom Brady era.

Not many teams would be formidable with that kind of pressure looming over their heads, but the 2023 Bucs held strong and proved all the doubters wrong.

The Buccaneers will now turn their attention to the 2024 offseason as they prepare for the regular season and there is room to be optimistic for how it will turn out given their accomplishments in 2023 and what can transpire over free agency and the NFL Draft.

In an interview with Pewter Report's Scott Reynolds, that is exactly how former Buccaneers' head coach Bruce Arians feels about the outlook of the team heading into 2024.

“I think it’s outstanding,” Arians said. “If we get those guys back – and hopefully we can – I think most of them will want to be back. Continuity… Again, new offense, but there’s going to be a lot of continuity in it. So I don’t think we’re starting from scratch again. The guys all know each other, they know the quarterback now, they know how to feed off each other. So I think the expectations should be high.”

The "get those guys back" Arians is referring to are the big four free agents the Buccaneers currently have and will 100% want to retain as they move forward in QB Baker Mayfield, WR Mike Evans, S Antoine Winfield Jr., and LB Lavonte David. There seems to be high optimism between all four that they would want to run things back and sign extensions with the team, but you never know what might happen when it comes to free agency.

There will be continuity like Arians mentioned as new offensive coordinator Liam Coen's system won't be a drastic change to the offensive side of the ball. Being able to bring key guys back that have been massive pieces to the Buccaneers' success last season will be imperative as they look to make a run back to the playoffs and build off of their 2023 season.
