Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl Champion Signing With NFC South Rival

Former Buccaneers' defensive end plans to sign with the New Orleans Saints.

13-year NFL veteran and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers' DE and LB Jason Pierre-Paul is heading back to the gridiron and NFC South as he plans to sign with the New Orleans Saints after working out for them.

JPP has been a staple in the league for a while now and will continue his career with the New Orleans Saints who are looking for help on their defensive line. The Saints started the season off strong on that side of the ball, but have seen it slip since then and want to improve on their pass rush.

Pierre-Paul may not be the same level of player that we once saw early during his days of playing with the Giants and during his time in Tampa Bay, but he is respected around the league for the constant tenacity he brings play in and play out.

JPP's best seasons with the New York Giants came in 2011 and 2014 where he recorded double-digit sacks. In 2011 he was selected First Team All-Pro and also is a three-time Pro Bowl selection. After the Giants kind of let him go by the wayside, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers gave JPP a chance at resurrecting his career in which he was able to accomplish by becoming an integral piece in their Super Bowl run in 2020.

Jason Pierre-Paul hasn't seen the field since he was with the Baltimore Ravens last year in which he started 13 games racking up 26 tackles, 5 TFL, 3 sacks, and an interception.
