Baker Mayfield has had an interesting first five years of his career in the NFL. After being drafted by the Cleveland Browns and leading them to the playoffs, his play slipped a bit and the Browns made the decision to trade for Deshaun Watson - sending Mayfield to the Carolina Panthers.

Mayfield spent time with the Panthers before they eventually released the young quarterback and the Los Angeles Rams picked him up. In just the 12 games he played last season, Baker totaled 2,163 yards, 10 touchdown passes to 8 interceptions. Needless to say, Baker's 2022 season was one to forget and not up to his expectations.

Even with how rough his 2022 season was, Mayfield was able to play well down the stretch of last season with the Rams, which provided hope for teams looking for a quarterback this offseason.

Now, after officially signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a one-year deal, Mayfield and OC, Dave Canales, will try to get him back to his old playing ways.

On Monday, Mayfield spoke to the media and mentioned that he does not believe last season humbled him in any way.

“I wouldn’t say that the last year really humbled me. I learned a lot from it,” he said, via Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. “I still believed in myself like that’s the only way I was able to, to get through it and finish on somewhat of a high note like real life.”

Baker has never been shy to who he is. Ever since his college career at the University of Oklahoma, the superstar quarterback carried himself with swagger and even in some moments rubbed people the wrong way. But, Baker won't apologize for any of that, and it appears that even an off-year won't affect the confidence he has in himself and his game.
